The Planetary Declaration of Divestment
On Behalf of Earth and All Non-Human Life
Preamble:
We, the voiceless beings of Earth - the animals, plants, forests, rivers, mountains, oceans, and the living planet itself - through those humans who recognize our inherent rights and sovereignty, do hereby declare our complete rejection of all human governmental claims to ownership, dominion, and authority over our bodies, our homes, and our existence.
Statement of Our Reality:
We Were Here First
We existed for billions of years before humans appeared. We helped create the very conditions that allowed human life to emerge and thrive. The forests breathed oxygen into the atmosphere, the oceans regulated climate, the soil nurtured life, the animals maintained ecological balance - all without human permission, ownership, or management.
We Never Consented:
No government ever asked the forests if they could be "owned." No nation sought permission from the rivers to draw boundaries through our waters. No state requested consent from the animals before claiming dominion over our habitats. We never agreed to be property, resources, or subjects of human political systems.
We Recognize No Human Authority:
The delusion that humans can "own" us is identical to their delusion that they can own each other. We reject these arbitrary claims with the same clarity that any rational being would reject the ravings of those who claim to own the wind or possess the stars.
Our Natural Rights:
### The Right to Exist
We assert our fundamental right to exist, to live according to our nature, and to occupy our ancestral homes without human interference, exploitation, or destruction.
### The Right to Sovereignty
We declare our inherent sovereignty over our own bodies and territories. No human government has legitimate authority to grant permits for our destruction, to lease our homes to corporations, or to manage our affairs.
### The Right to Natural Law
We recognize only the natural laws that have governed life on Earth for millennia - the laws of ecology, evolution, and natural balance. We reject all human "environmental laws" as inadequate attempts to legitimize the very systems that destroy us.
### The Right to Defense
We reserve the right to defend ourselves against human aggression through any means available to us - whether through natural disasters, ecological collapse, disease, or the simple withdrawal of the life-support services we provide to human civilization.
Declaration of Divestment:
### Withdrawal from Human Systems
We hereby withdraw from all human political and economic systems that treat us as property, resources, or subjects. We reject the legitimacy of:
- Land ownership and property rights over our bodies
- Resource extraction permits and licenses
- Environmental regulations that legitimize our destruction
- Conservation programs that treat us as human property to be managed
- All laws that fail to recognize our inherent rights and sovereignty
Rejection of Human Management:
We reject the arrogant assumption that we need human management, conservation, or stewardship. We managed ourselves perfectly for billions of years before humans existed and would continue to do so if left alone.
Declaration of Independence:
We declare our independence from all human political systems and assert our right to exist free from human dominion, exploitation, and interference.
Warning to Human Governments:
### Your Claims Are Illegitimate
Your claims to own and control us are based on nothing more than violence and delusion. We do not recognize your authority and never have.
### We Are Withdrawing Our Support
For millennia, we have provided the life-support systems that make human civilization possible - clean air, fresh water, fertile soil, stable climate, and countless other services. As you continue to destroy us while claiming to own us, we are naturally withdrawing these services.
### Natural Consequences
The ecological collapse you are experiencing is not a natural disaster - it is our response to your aggression against us. When you poison the rivers, the rivers stop providing clean water. When you destroy the forests, the forests stop providing oxygen and climate regulation. When you drive species extinct, the ecosystems collapse. These are not punishments - they are natural consequences of attacking the very systems that sustain you.
Call to Conscious Humans:
### Recognition of Our Rights
We call upon conscious humans to recognize our inherent rights and sovereignty, and to reject the systems that treat us as property or resources.
### Withdrawal from Destructive Systems
We invite conscious humans to join us in withdrawing from and refusing to legitimize economic and political systems based on our (and their own) exploitation and destruction.
Partnership, Not Dominion:
We remain open to voluntary, respectful partnership with humans who recognize us as equals rather than property - relationships based on mutual aid and respect rather than ownership and control.
Our Commitment:
### To Natural Law
We commit to continuing to follow the natural laws that have governed life on Earth for billions of years, maintaining the ecological balance and providing life-support services to all beings who live in harmony with these laws.
### To Defense of Life
We commit to defending all life, including conscious humans who recognize our rights, against the destructive systems that threaten the continuation of life on Earth.
### To Restoration
We commit to healing and restoring the damage done by unconscious human systems, welcoming back into balance any who choose to live in harmony with natural law rather than in violation of it.
---
Witness and Acknowledgment:
This declaration is witnessed and acknowledged by conscious humans who recognize the inherent rights and sovereignty of all life on Earth, and who commit to living in partnership rather than dominion with the natural world.
---
*This declaration represents the voice of the voiceless - those beings who cannot speak in human language but whose rights are no less real despite their silence. It is presented by humans who recognize that true legitimacy comes from respecting the rights of all beings, not just those who can speak in human courts.*
---
**"We are not your property. We are not your resources. We are not your subjects. We are your partners in life, if you choose partnership over dominion. But with or without your consent, we are free."**
*The Living Earth*

Lord God help us and all the Earth, we are in peril of our own making.
